13 killed in Faisalabad blast

At least 13 people died and more than forty injured in a huge explosion near a gas station in Faisalabad on Tuesday.

According to reports, dozens of cars were damaged and building of the CNG station was razed to the ground when a bomb exploded with a big bang near a CNG station on Mall Road in Faisalabad.

The CNG station was destroyed while nearby buildings including PIA office were damaged in the blast and windows in nearby houses were smashed by flying debris.

13 people died and 48 injured in the blast. The injured were shifted to Civil hospital while emergency was declared in other hospitals of the city. Police have cordoned off the area immediately after the blast.

Abid Sher Ali, leader of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) said that the explosives were planted in a vehicle parked at the gas station.

Police have arrested a man on suspicion from the blast site.

Tahir Hussain, Commissioner Faisalabad said that thirteen people have lost their lives in the blast.

PM Gilani Telephones Sharif Brothers

Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani telephoned PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif later than the Lahore High Court (LHC) dismissed petitions seeking their ineligibility.He congratulated Sharif brothers on dismissal of their petitions. The petitions were filed against the Sharif brothers for contesting polls from NA-52 and NA-123.
Lawyers representing the Sharif brothers argued that elections have already taken place in this constituency.
A three-member bench of the Lahore High Court supervised by Justice Ijaz Chaudhry dismissed the petitions as the petitioner did not appear in the court hearings.

136 Pakistani students safely reached home from Kyrgyzstan

Pakistan military plane on Tuesday airlifted the first grouping of 136 students from the violence-stricken Kyrgyzstan and another plane left to bring more stranded students.

Qamar-uz-Zaman Kaira received students at a military airbase in Rawalpindi, said the government will take all measures to bring all students from Osh, Kyrgyzstan, where cultural brutality has claimed over 100 lives.

Several students, who were happy on safe return, told reporters at the Chaklala Air Base, that they were not expecting to return live as the situation had been worst in Osh city, where they had been studying.
